A Study on School Adjustment Model for Children with ADHD With a Focus on the Moderating Effect of Mother`s Resilience

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to understand school adjustment of ADHD children in terms of variables that are mother`s resilience, coping with nurturing stress and positive nurturing behavior by using structural equating model analysis. The targets of the survey were ADHD diagnosed elementary school students and their mothers. 297 surveys were used for the analysis. In the result, ADHD symptoms give negative effects to resilience, coping with nurturing stress and school adjustment of children. However resilience positively influences coping with nurturing stress and the coping ability boosts positive nurturing behavior. Therefore, it is essential to increase resilience of mothers with ADHD children. Intensive case management for mother with ADHD children should be developed.
